The Book Of Business Etiquette: The American businessman is considered to be the country’s unofficial mascot, a figure who is as indigenous to the land and as emblematic of the nation as baseball, Broadway, or huge advertising. He is an interesting figure, picturesque, and not unlovable.

He may not be as dashing as a knight in armour or a soldier in uniform, but he is not without the noble (and ignoble) qualities that have characterised the tribe of man since the beginning of the world. He is not without the qualities that have characterised the tribe of man. The United States of America, similar to other countries, has produced notable statesmen and soldiers, authors, and artists; however, while these individuals have not all gone to their graves without being honoured and without being sung, the story of the successful businessman is uniquely American and does not exist anywhere else.

Without attempting to find an answer to the question of whether he is good or bad (and the truth is that he really cannot be pigeonholed any better than anyone else), we have no choice but to accept the fact that he is the most significant factor in the common wealth of the United States of America today.

Therefore, it is only natural to conclude that his thoughts and feelings will influence, and most likely predominate, the beliefs and ideals held by the other citizens of the country. Numbers of our magazines, which are as good an index as we have to the feelings of the general public, are given over completely to the service or entertainment of businessmen (the T. B. M.), and an astonishing amount of space is devoted to them in the majority of the others. Additionally, the T. B. M. is given over completely to the service or entertainment of businessmen in a number of our magazines.

The question of whether or not all of this is beneficial for the country is one that is, in fact, frequently brought up for discussion. We won’t get into it right now. It is safe to say that this has been beneficial to business, and when taking into account the guys who have been instrumental in the development of our many industries, we have no choice but to accept them as they are and not as we believe they should be. Perhaps this is for the best.

There was a time when the farmer was the most important individual in the community. And the politician ingratiated himself with the people by stating that he too had split rails and followed the plough, that he had harvested grain, and that he had suffered from rainy spells and dry spells, low prices and dull seasons, hunger, and misery.

There are other strategies as well, although this one has a good chance of success. If he is able to speak eloquently about the days when he toiled and perspired in a coal mine, in a printing shop, in a cotton, wool, or silk mill, or in a steel or motor plant, then he is in a position to compete successfully with the former country kid. We have evolved into a country of successful business people. Even the “dirt” farmer has turned into a businessman because he has realised that he must not only produce but also locate a market for his product in order to be successful.

When contrasting the modern businessman with the businessmen of the past, it is important to keep in mind that the modern businessman operates in a more challenging environment. When people dressed in skins, ate roots for food, and lived in caves dispersed over the landscape, life was rather straightforward.

They did not feel the need for one another, and as a result, they did not feel the need for a code of conduct. They were dependent not on humans but on nature, and it’s possible that the concept of human brotherhood would never have developed if the natural world hadn’t presented so many challenges. She gave them fruit and bananas, as well as sun and sweet breezes, but she also gave them hardship in the form of wild monsters and savages, as well as terrible droughts, winds, and floods.

She provided them with all they needed, but she also gave them trouble. It was vital to have strength in order to fight against these foes, and when primitive man realised that two people were worth twice as much as one, he began to band together in order to increase his fighting ability. This event marked the origin of civilization as well as the commencement of courteous behaviour. It originated from the self-preservation instinct, which is the oldest instinct in the universe.
